Abstract
In the digital era like now, there are many conveniences offered by the internet, such as ease of information, job vacancies, and convenience of services for purchasing travel tickets. This has led to an increase in the number of comers from various groups, from workers to tourists. Most comers come to work or travel on a limited budget. Apart from that, these immigrants also engage in quite a lot of outdoor activities. Therefore, temporary accommodation is needed with fast, cheap, efficient service and optimal circulation. The type of accommodation that suits these needs is a capsule hotel. Moreover, this project is planned to be located close to the trade center area and the Cinde Light Rail Transit (LRT) station which has the potential for the area to be developed into a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) area. The design of this capsule hotel building prioritizes functional architecture where this concept prioritizes the function and efficiency of every circulation and space. This concept is also closely related to thermal comfort. Prioritizing function does not mean sacrificing aesthetics, the facade is processed with materials that are sustainable but economical and neat.
