Abstract

This study aims to analyze the description of "Social Integration of Javanese and Batak Tribes in Bandar Jaya Village, Rantau Rasau District, Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency, Jambi Province". The problem that occurs in this study is that there are two tribes that differ in their lives in the same environment. Both of these tribes come from different regions, both in terms of language, culture, and habits. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative research method. The technique of data collection is done by observassi, interviews, and documentation. The theory used is the theory of social integration from Durileur Emile. The results of this study found that social integration that occurred in the Javanese and Batak tribes in Bandar Jaya Village could occur due to the similarity in values and interdependence between each other, both in the economic, social and environmental fields. This created a collective awareness of the two tribes so that harmony and peace could be realized well. Supported by the understanding of Bhineka Tunggal Ika from the two tribes, the existence of mutually intelligible languages, cultures between Javanese as well as Batak people can be mutually acceptable to each other, the religious traditions that are the same between the two tribes also make a driving factor in the formation of social integration between Javanese and Batak tribes in Bandar Jaya Village Keywords: Social Integration, Javanese, Batak tribe.
