Abstract

Aluminum powder has been produced from the use of aluminum frame waste from the household construction industry. Aluminum powder that has been produced is milled for 20 minutes with time variations off for 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes and 40 minutes. After milling aluminum powder then characterization using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) to determine the crystal structure and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) to determine the surface morphology. From the XRD results obtained the crystal size and density of aluminum powder. Crystal size of each time off 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes and 40 minutes are 30.8 nm, 30.3 nm, 31.0 nm and 29.6 nm. The smallest crystal size when milled for 20 minutes with an off time of 40 minutes is 29.6 nm. The longer the time off in the milling process the smaller the size of the crystal. While the surface morphology of powder with SEM was carried out for powder samples that had been milled for 20 minutes with an off time of 40 minutes. SEM results of 20 minute aluminium powder milling with an off time of 40 minutes showed that morphology non agglomerated aluminium powder.
