Abstract

This research discuss about the maintenance management of city's park by the Department of Public Housing and Settlement Areas of Palembang City (Study in Ilir Barat I Subdistrict), with the background problem such as not achieving the target of twenty percent of public Green Open Space (RTH), workload that is not in accordance with the number of employees, lack of park support facilities, and also city park was not treatment completely. The purpose of this study was to determine the management of city park maintenance by the office of Public Housing and Settlement Areas of Palembang City (Study in ilir Barar I District). This study used the theory of management functions by George R. Terry. This research was conducted at the Office of the Public Housing and Settlement Areas of Palembang City. The informant determination technique used was purposive sampling, which was the selection of informants based on the stated research objectives. Data collection techniques in this study use documentation, observation, and in-depth interviews. After the data is collected then analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study are that the process of managing city park maintenance by the Department of Public Housing and Settlement Areas of Palembang City is through four stages, namely planning, organizing, mobilizing and supervising. In running an activity program, the quality of human resources does not have uniform knowledge. The stages in organizing, including division of labor and coordination. The DPRKP of Palembang City has already carried out the division of labor, but did not do the work grouping specifically for each activity. Mobilizalion is done by dividing tasks and controlling the field. As well as supervision, carried out by monitoring the field, making report documents, holding evaluation meetings and enforcing absences for all employees. The recommendation of this thesis is in planning, it is better to plan according to the situation and conditions in the field, and also the Palembang DPRKP needs to provide intense training for freelance daily amployees and civil servant and non-PNS employees. To carry out the park maintenance process,job grouping is needed
