Abstract

media gathering public relation palembang city government secretariat in fostering compensation cooperation with print media. Thesis department of communication science faculty of social and political sciences Sriwijaya University. This study examines the problem of how the media gathering Public Relations Palembang City Secretariat in fostering cooperation with the print media, because the media Gathering held the number of print journalist who attend tend to decrease and Public Relations Secretariat of the Government of Palembang not regularly do media gathering activities. this thesis aims to know the media gathering Public Relations Secretariat of Palembang City Government in foresting Cooperation with print media. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method with descriptive research type. The data obtained from the primary data is through interviews with the head of Public Relations of the Secretariat of the Government of Palembang City, Public Relations sub-division of the Palembang City Government Secretariat and print media reporter. Based on the result of this study can be concluded that the media gathering Public Relations Secretariat of Palembang City Government with the theory put forward by Nolte & Wilcox is more dominant done by Public Relations Secretariat of Palembang City Government there are 4 that is , scheduling press conference, invitation ,handling press conference and Press-kit Public Relations Secretariat of the Government of Palembang City has provided previous information about media gathering to be held to print journalists , contct print journalists by using email and call directly, facilitate everything needed to hold a media gathering and has provided press-kit in accordance with SKPD/OPD in the Secetariat of the city Government of Palembang.
