Abstract

The aims of this research are to know and get the clear picture about the low level of production of pineapples and also to explain about the process of the alternative recommendation to the policy in increasing the production of pineapples in the Prabumulih in 2013. The method that is used in this research is qualitative decriptive research method that was used to research the object by means of depicting an available problem by recording, determining, classifying as well as analyzing the data that was received from the source of the data. The source of the data was received from the primary data through the interview and observation, the secondary data based on the archives, the report, the book and the other source. Moreover, this research use the theory of the analysis of public policy by Brigman & Davis, meanwhile it uses the comparative method and May method for the policy recommendation. Based on the analysis and observation conducted by researchers, there are 4 (four) policy alternatives are considered appropriate and likely large enough to be able to resolve the issue of low production of pineapple in Prabumulih, such as : 1. Increasing Producivity and Post Harvest Handling Policy, 2. Depreciation Land control Policy, 3. Increasing Interest in Youth to Work In Pineapple Plantation and Improving the Quality of Pineapple Farmers Policy. 4. Narrow Land Intensification of griculture and Technology Utilization Policy. From the results of the analysis, the best policy alternative that is appropriate and suitable to be recommended in order to increase the production of pineapple in the Prabumulih is Narrow Land Intensification of Agriculture and Technology Utilization Policy. The author suggested The City Government of Prabumulih, especially The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry get along with the society should play an active role and support each other in order to achieve the common goal of improving the pineapple production in Prabumulih.
