Abstract

Failure of technology is a disaster that occurs due to failure of the operations performed by humans either intentionally or unintentionally in the use of technology and or industrial tools. In 1998-2007 nearly 3200 failure of technology that resulted in 100,000 killed and nearly 2 million people affected . The ammonia dispersion confined space in PT. Pusri is a catastrophic failure of technology which if it occurs with poor sensitivity will have a major hazard impact. The purpose of this research is to mapping the areas that are considered vulnerable to technological failure based on the biological and socioeconomic factors of the community in Kelurahan 3 Ilir Palembang. This research uses survey method with quantitative approach. The samples in this study were 324 families divided proportionally with random sampling sampling technique. Results of analysis of community vulnerability mapping prioritized by age and history of chronic disease RT 04, based on pregnancy RT 37, based on the special needs of RT 04, based on the number of family members and the adequacy of RT 04 accommodation, based on the composition of families RT 13 and RT 33.
