Abstract
Shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) have successfully become the main commodity in Indonesia which has many varieties, one of which is the tajuk variety. Chicken manure is an organic fertilizer that is believed to kill harmful bacteria in shallot plants that are parasitic, as well as husk charcoal which is an alternative additional planting medium because it is able to improve and improve soil properties. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the composition of planting media on the production and yield of shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) tajuk variety. The design used in this study was a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 7 treatments, each treatment was repeated 3 times and each treatment unit had 3 plants, making a total of 63 plants. The treatment of onion plants is as follows: P₀ = control, P₁ = 1:1 (soil: chicken manure), P₂ = 2: 1 (soil: chicken manure), P₃ = 1: 1 (soil: husk charcoal), P₄ = 2:1 (soil: husk charcoal), P₅ = 1:1:1 (soil: chicken manure : husk charcoal), P₆ = 2:1:1 (soil: chicken manure : husk charcoal). The parameter observed is leaf length, number of leaves, number of tillers, Soil Plants Analysis Development, chlorophyll content, leaf area, root length, number of bulbs, bulbs diameter, bulbs length, bulbs volume, fresh weight of bulbs, dry weight of wind bulbs, fresh weight and oven dry weight. Based on the results of the study showed that the application The composition of the growing medium with the recommended dose P₅ = 1: 1: 1 (soil : chicken manure : husk charcoal) per polybag is the best treatment for Because it has the highest average that is dominant on each observed parameter.
