Abstract

A person is healthy if has a perfect state physically, mentally, and socially. Bullying behavior is an imbalance of healthy status mentally and socially. Within three months there were 37 cases of school bullying that occurred in MI GUPPI I Babatan. The purpose of this research is to describe the cause of school bullying done by MI GUPPI I Babatan students. This research uses qualitative design with in-depth interview method, observation and document review. The design of this research was a qualitative study using in-depth interviews, observation, review of documents. The research informant was 23 informants consisting of students, teachers, parent and peer grup of student MI Guppi I Babatan selected using purposive sampling method. Test the validity of data using triangulation of data, sources, and methods. The results showed that students didn’t know and didn’t realize that the actions they did was include bullying. Male students did physical bullying (kicking, punching, throwing), while female students did bullying verbal (mocking, nicking, yelling), and psychological bullying (hostile, cynical, intercepting, opening skirts and lower of pants). Bullying actors had extroverted characters while victims had introverted characters. Children are commonly exposed to violence in the family environment, school and social environment so that the imitation character of children make them mimic the behavior. Lack of supervision from parents and informant teachers keeps the bullying case continuing, and there’s no written rules in school makes schools were possible place for bullying. so written rules should be made for students and increased supervision in schools so that school bullying cases do not continue to occur.
