Abstract

Floods are natural disasters due to heavy rainfall in the region. The floods caused losses and casualties. One flood-prone sub-district is the District Gandus because they are close to the Musi river flow. SMP N 47 Palembang are included in the subdistrict Gandus which is one of the areas prone to flooding because it is built right on top of the marsh and close to the river musi, The purpose of this study to analyze the level of preparedness of SMPN 47 Palembang faced devastating floods. The sample in this study amounted to 73 respondents. Sampling is done by proportional simple random sampling. The research design is quasi experiment design and data collected from respondents using a questionnaire. The conclusion shows the differences in the level of preparedness of students before being given counseling students have the level of preparedness in the category is ready for 87.7%, while the level of preparedness of students are given counseling after almost all students have a level of preparedness in the category of ready 95.9%, so it can be concluded that there are differences in the level of preparedness students before and after counseling. Students are expected not only given counseling, but also given a simulation in the face of flood disasters so that students have good preparedness
