Abstract

The purpose of this research is to: 1) Analyze the income level of rubber farming in Mainan Village Sembawa Subdistrict Banyuasin District; (2) Calculate the contribution of the income level of rubber farming to the total income of rubber farming families in Mainan Village Sembawa Subdistrict Banyuasin District; (3) Analyze the welfare level of rubber farmers in Mainan Village Sembawa Subdistrict Banyuasin District that are seen from Decent Living Needs (KHL). This research was conducted at Mainan Vilage of Sembawa Sub-district of Banyuasin. The selection of this location was chose purposely. Data collection was conducted in February 2018. The method used in this research is a survey method. The technique of collecting the samples used Simple Random Sampling Method. The results of this research showed that (1) The amount of rubber farming income is IDR. 32,084,769,71 per cultivated area per year; (2) The contribution of rubber farming income is more dominant, that is 67.87% compared to outside income of rubber farming that is 32.13% to the total income of farmers’ families. Whereas, the contribution from outside income of rubber farming itself does not reach 50% because farmers still prioritize income from rubber farming; (3) Rubber farmers in the Mainan Village are not prosperous yet, because the total income of families obtained by farmers is smaller than Decent Living Needs (KHL) which each month has a shortfall of IDR. (351,422.98) each family.
