Abstract

The objectives of this study are: 1) Describe performance (social, economic and technical) on rice farming and rubber rice in Saleh Mulya Village, Air Saleh District, Banyuasin District. 2) Analyzing the magnitude of the difference in income of farmers on rice and rice-rubber farming in Saleh Mulya Village, Air Saleh Subdistrict, Banyuasin Regency. This research was carried out in the village of Saleh Mulya, Air Saleh District, Banyuasin Regency. Location selection is done purposively. Data collection was conducted from July to August 2018. The research method used in this study was a disproportional stratified random sampling method with a total of 60 farmers, consisting of 30 farmers who planted rice and 30 farmers planted rice-rubber . The results of this study show that farmers who try rice farming have education, the number of dependents is lower than farmers who try rice-rubber farming. In terms of land type, farmers who try rice farming have type A land, while farmers who try rice-rubber have type C land. The income of farmers who try rice farming is lower than the income costs of farmers who try rice-rubber farming. The income of rubber-rice farmers has an average income of Rp.46,471,551 per hectare per year higher than the significant average of rice-rubber farmers of Rp.15,483,340 per hectare per year.
