Abstract
Having done with mapping and development of quality education research in Palembang city. Objectives of the research are (1) to explore senior high school students? competency mapping at every topics in national examination, (2) to explore factors that students did notmaster certain topics, (3) to find out alternative solutions to exchange students competencies for national-exam subjects, and (4) formulate implemented model for problem solving with involving some institutions. There were 9 senior high schools involved in the research. Amount of respondents are I8 teachers and principals, vice principals each the senior high schools. Data gathering techniques were used focuss group discussion (FGD), questionnaires, and documentation. Research findings are (1) students? competencies were low at certain topics which strengthened by teachers' FGD, (2) some factors that were influence of low students' competencies at certain topics such as teacher mismatch and lack of professional development program, (3) alternative problem solving activities were offered such as teacher of professional development program through mastery learning at certain topics in short term training and lesson study activities.
