Abstract

Gastritis is a disease caused by inflammation of the gastric mucosa characterized by pain, swelling, and irritation of the gastric mucous membrane. One of the Pharmacological therapy for managing gastritis involves H2 receptor antagonists, Ranitidine. For treating gastritis, a 150-300mg dose is administered once or twice a day. Rational drug use involves administering medication according to the patient's clinical condition, with the correct dosage, appropriate timing, and costs justifiable for the patient and their community. This study is a descriptive research in the form of a rational drug use study using secondary data obtained from medical records. The total sample consists of 53 patients who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The majority of those suffering from gastritis were in the early elderly age (37.7%), female (67.9%). Furthermore, the results showed accurate diagnosis, indication, dosage are (100%), accurate duration of administration (64.2%), accurate frequency (90.6%), and in drug interactions, (67.7%) were antagonistic interactions, (4.4%) were potentiating interactions.
