Abstract

Background. Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) is a condition where the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart muscle is insufficient, resulting from pathological processes in the coronary arteries. In 2021, CAD caused the death of 375,476 people globally. One of the invasive therapies to restore blood supply to the heart muscle is Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG). This research aims to determine the characteristics of CAD patients who underwent CABG at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang period 2018-2023. Methods. This research is a descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional design. The samples for this study were selected through the total sampling method from the medical records of CAD patients who met the inclusion criteria and did not meet the exclusion criteria. Results. This Study obtained the results, from 31 patients with CAD who underwent CABG at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang period 2018-2023, the majority were in the age group of <65 years (74,2%), predominantly male patients (87,1%), with the most prevalent risk factor being hyperlipidemia (61,3%), and the most common clinical symptom being chest pain (93,5%), with the highest SYNTAX score in the severe SYNTAX score group (61,3%). The majority of patients have a postoperative survival outcome Conclusion. Patients with CAD who underwent CABG at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang period 2018-2023 were predominantly from the age group <65 years, male, with hyperlipidemia as a risk factor, clinical symptom of chest pain, and severe SYNTAX score group.
