Abstract

Individuals who experience pressure with low psychological flexibility tend to act rashly because individuals are less able to manage emotions, adjust to changes and face challenges and are less able to think rationally in dealing with problems. This study aims to describe the psychological flexibility profile of students at SMA Negeri 2 Prabumulih. This study uses a quantitative descriptive design and additional hypothesis testing using a Likert Scale as a data collection technique which is then analyzed using the percentage formula (%), Independent Samples T-Test test, and One Way Anova test. The population in this study were students of SMA Negeri 2 Prabumulih with a sample of 270 students. The results showed that most of the psychological flexibility profiles of students at SMA Negeri 2 Prabumulih were in the medium category with a percentage of 37.4%, followed by 27.4% low category, 22.6% high category, 8.1% very high category, and 4.4% very low. The analysis of psychological flexibility marked the majority of students in the moderate category, in the dimensions of acceptance (33%), defusion (41.5%), and self-context (52.6%), then followed by values (30.4%) and committed actions (41.9%) with high categories, and the last in the low category in contact with the present as many as 33% (89 students). The results of the analysis of psychological flexibility based on gender, namely male students in the moderate category (33%) and female students in the moderate category (33.3%). In addition, there is no difference in psychological flexibility profiles based on gender in students with a significance value of 0.356>0.05 and differences in psychological flexibility profiles based on grade level in students with a significance value of 0.474>0.05. These results illustrate the importance of increasing psychological flexibility in students through various efforts and interventions from counseling guidance.
