Abstract

This research aims to find out whether there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and self-regulated learning in working students. The hypothesis of this research is that there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and self-regulated learning in working students. This research used 110 working students as respondents for data collection, and 35 working students for testing. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The measuring instruments used are the emotional intelligence scale referring to the dimensions of Salovey and Mayer (1997) and the self-regulated learning scale referring to aspects according to Zimmerman (1990). The results of the correlation analysis show that emotional intelligence and self-regulated learning have a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05) with r = 0.535. From the results of data analysis it can be concluded that there is a significant positive relationship between the two variables. Thus the hypothesis proposed in this research is accepted.
