Abstract
The development of social media is currently increasingly sophisticated, TikTok is a platform that is widely used by all groups, especially students. However, this media turns out to have a negative impact, namely excitement, making students less focused on learning. This research aims to develop an instrument in the form of an e-scale and then validate the e-scale which will be used to measure the excitement of high school students. The method in this research is research development (Research Development). The population in this study was 300 students and the sample in this study was 150 students in two high schools in Ogan Ilir Regency. The data analysis technique uses a validity test with the Pearson product moment formula with a significance level of 5% and from all statement items (a total of 27 items) the value obtained is rcount > rtable (0.159), so the instrument is declared valid. Furthermore, from the results of the reliability test using the Cronbach Alpha formula and the value obtained was 0.748 > 0.60, it was declared reliable. The practicality test was calculated using the % Practicality formula and a result of 83% was obtained, so the e-scale was declared practical. Thus, the e-scale that has been used is valid, reliable and practical.
