Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis (TBC) is an infectious disease that most often affects the lungs. TB germs can be spread through the air when TBC sufferers cough, spit, or sneeze. The Ministry of Health with all health workers managed to detect 700,000 TBC cases in Indonesia. The figure is the highest since tuberculosis became a national priority. This study aims to evaluate active case finding efforts in the TBC control program at the Pakjo Health Center in Palembang City. Method: This type of research is descriptive, with a qualitative approach to case studies. Data were obtained from primary data in the form of conducting in-depth interviews, observations and FGDs on the representation of the Pakjo Health Center in Palembang and obtained from secondary data in the form of existing data related to this study, in the form of Puskesmas profile books and reports on TB program activities. Results: The results of this study show that the planning carried out by Puskesmas Pakjo on the implementation of TBC program activities has been carried out quite well and refers to the Minister of Health Regulation No. 67 of 2016 concerning TBC Management, but there are external and internal obstacles that make activities have not been carried out properly so that cooperation between Puskesmas officers and the community is needed so that the program can run optimally. Conclusion: The implementation of TB discovery at the Pakjo Health Center has been carried out, but it has not been optimal, it is hoped that the Puskesmas and the community can work together in maximizing active case discovery so that the implementation of case discovery can run optimally.
