Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of banana weevil Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) and NPK fertilizer on the growth and production of native potato (Plectranthus Rotundifolius (Poir.) Spreng). Research was carried out in the Back Land of the Department of Agricultural Cultivation, Sriwijaya University, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra with coordinates 3°13'11"S 104°38'50"T and for analysis activities carried out at the Plant Physiology Laboratory of the Department of Agricultural Cultivation, Sriwijaya University from June 2023 to September 2023. This study used Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 7 levels of treatment with each treatment repeated 3 times and each repeat consisting of 3 plants, so that the total number of plants was 63 plants. The treatments in this study were A = control (without Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) and NPK fertilizer), B = 7.5 grams of NPK fertilizer and 10% banana weevil LOF, C = 10 grams of NPK fertilizer and 10% banana weevil LOF, D = 12.5 grams of NPK fertilizer and 10% banana weevil LOF, E = 7.5 grams of NPK fertilizer and 20% banana weevil LOF, F = 10 grams of NPK fertilizer and 20% banana weevil LOF, G = 12.5 grams of NPK fertilizer and 20% banana weevil LOF. The variables observed in this study were plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, stem diameter, leaf greenness, flowering time, plant fresh weight, plant dry weight, tuber weight, tuber diameter, number of tubers per polybag, tuber volume. The results showed that the application of various doses of NPK fertilizer and LOF banana weevil did not have a noticeable effect on the number of tubers produced. However, it has a significant effect on plant height with a higher average found in treatment E (7.5 g NPK and 20% LOF) which is not significantly different from treatment F (10 g NPK and 20% LOF). Giving a dose of 7.5 g NPK and 20% LOF is the best dose for the growth and production of black potato plants (Plectranthus rotundifolius (Poir.) Spreng.) compared to other treatments.
