Abstract

Background: Coronary Slow-Flow Phenomenon (CSFP) is an angiographic findings that shows a delayed contrast medium flow rate in at least one coronary artery in the absence of occlusive coronary artery disease. Abnormal BMI, hypertension, and diabetes have been shown to play an important role in the occurrence of endothelial dysfunction. This phenomenon of slowing blood flow can be caused by endothelial dysfunction in resistive vessels which has created obstacles to blood flow. This phenomenon can be identified through checking the TIMI Flow Grade or Corrected TIMI Frame Count. Method: This type of research is analytical observational with a cross-sectional design. The study used secondary data in the form of patient medical records containing gender, age, body mass index, blood pressure level, and history of diabetes melitus in patients undergoing coronary angiography at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang for the period January 2022 – December 2022 who meets the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were analyzed with the Chi Square test using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 27 program. Results: In this study, 101 samples were obtained that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Based on the results of univariate analysis, it was found that the majority of the sample was male (61.4%) and aged 50 – 59 years (37.5%). The results of bivariate analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between hypertension and CSFP (p value = 0.045) and a highly significant relationship between diabetes melitus and CSFP (p value = 0,001). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between hypertension and diabetes melitus and CSFP. Keywords: Coronary Slow-Flow Phenomenon, BMI, Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus
