Abstract

This research entitled “The Meaning of Namat Tradition In Wedding Ceremony Of Semendo Ethnic In Tanjung Raya, Way tenong, Lampung Barat”. The problem were about how to hold a understand the meaning and also to make it exist forever the Namat tradition of Semendo marriage ceremony in Tanjung Raya Village. The research used intractionalism symbolic theory with qualitative method, and etnografi. Techniques for collection the data, were Getting In, Getting Along, and Loging Data. After collecting the data, the researcher analyzet in by using Miles and Huberman that was condence data, data serving, adng how to get conclusion. The result of this research showed that the hold of Namat tradition was a spiritiul event in Semendo ethnic in wedding. That contained of social meaning, economy, and religious that gave good value for the people so that it is very important to make it exist.
