Abstract

This research aims to describe the types and communicative functions of illocutionary speech acts. This study used descriptive qualitative method. This research data is in the form of dialogue between characters obtained from the novel 86 by Okky Madasari. The data collection technique used in this research is a documentation technique using reading and note-taking techniques. Based on the analysis of the types and communicative functions of illocutionary speech acts, 164 utterances were obtained, namely: data for assertive speech acts were found for 63 utterances, data for directive speech acts were found for 38 utterances, data for expressive speech acts were found for 34 utterances, data for commissive speech acts were found for 21 utterances, and declarative speech act data was found for 8 utterances. Research on illocutionary speech acts in the novel 86 by Okky Madasari can have implications for learning Indonesian, namely drama texts. Drama text material is contained in the Advanced Indonesian Language and Literature learning book for class XI high scholl, independent curriculum in phase F, namely “Developing an Appreciation for Drama with Educational Themes”. The Learning Outcomes (CP) that areapplied are reading and viewing elements, through these elements students are asked to analyze dialogue in drama texts, as well as the Learning Outcomes (CP) speaking and presenting, through these elements students can explain the results of the drama text analysis in front of the class and be responded to by other students. The implications of this research are in the form of a teaching module analyzing dialogue in drama texts and LKPD (Students’ Worksheets).
