Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of providing organic chicken manure fertilizer on the growth and production of shallot plants (Allium ascalonicum L.) of the Bima Brebes variety. The research was carried out in Tanjung Pering Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province. From May to August 2023. The design used was a Randomized Block Design (RBD) and the observation results were analyzed using variance and BNT 5%. The treatment in this research was chicken manure fertilizer which consisted of 4 levels with 3 repetitions for each unit containing 3 plants so there were 36 plants. The treatment consisted of P0= control, P1= 40 grams of chicken manure/polybag, P2= 80 grams of chicken manure/polybag and P3= 120 grams of chicken manure/polybag. Parameters observed included leaf length, number of leaves, number of tillers, level of greenness of leaves, chlorophyll content, root length, number of tubers, tuber diameter, fresh weight of fruit trees, fresh weight of tubers, air dry weight of fruit trees, and air dry weight of tubers. Based on the research results, it was found that giving chicken manure fertilizer in the P3 treatment with 120 grams of chicken drum fertilizer/polybag (30 tons-1) was the best treatment for all parameters, except for the parameters of number of tillers, chlorophyll content and tuber length.
