Abstract

This research aims to determine and describe the computational thinking abilities of students from the Excellent MIPA program in solving class VII algebraic arithmetic operations questions and to find out the learning process used by teachers in algebraic arithmetic operations material for class VII students in the Excellent MIPA program. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection in the form of observations, written tests and interviews. The research subjects were 20 students in class VII.3 MTs Al-Ittifaqiah 2 Indralaya. Based on research results, the computational thinking ability of MIPA excellent program students in solving arithmetic operations questions in class VII algebra is in the medium category with an average score of 60. Then for the results of learning observations carried out by teachers, they use the teacher centered learning method which connects learning with indicators. computational thinking but not yet fully fulfilled.
