Abstract
The research method used in this research is a mix method with the type of research, namely descriptive research, which aims to determine the analysis of gender equality in the field of vocational education, especially in Mechanical Engineering Education at FKIP Sriwijaya University. The research was carried out in the odd semester of 2023, with the research subjects being active students of Mechanical Engineering Education, FKIP, Sriwijaya University, class 2020 to class 2023. Mechanical Engineering Education is one of the Study Programs at Sriwijaya University with a minority of female students. Women are often considered to have more weaknesses in practical activities compared to men. The results of this research show that 53% of female students stated that there was no gender equality in the field of Mechanical Engineering Education at FKIP Sriwijaya University. In fact, only 4% said they strongly agreed with gender equality in Mechanical Engineering Education. This is also in line with the results of the interview which stated that there was no freedom to carry out learning activities, especially practicum activities for female students. The indicator that most influences the level of gender equality is the educational attainment indicator with a percentage of 82% which is included in the very high category. Educational attainment is greatly influenced by the level of gender equality both in the learning process and even in the level of employment opportunities.
