Abstract
Land utilization in oil palm stands that have a distance (sela) in planting can be used to grow annual crops such as chili plants. Planting cayenne pepper between oil palm trees has good opportunity to be done because through the utilization of vacant land between oil palm trees. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of arthropod species in cayenne pepper plants and to determine the production of cayenne pepper plants grown in polyculture with oil palm plants. This study used direct observation method and experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatment levels, which were repeated 4 times. All data on arthropod diversity and population, development, growth and production of chili plants as well as humidity, temperature and light intensity were tested using ANOVA.
