Abstract

The psychological constructs that address participants' subjective assessment of their school are school well-being and student well-being. High well-being is associated with improved academic outcomes, student engagement, prosocial behavior, school safety, and mental health. This study aims to determine the effect of school well-being and student well-being on student engagement in learning biology in high school class XII. The sample consisted of 177 students in class XII of high school in A, B, and C accredited schools. The method in this study uses quantitative methods with a correlational approach using multiple linear regression tests. The research data were interpreted and analyzed statistically. The results of multiple linear regression tests show that the dimensions of school well-being and student well-being together have a positive and significant effect on student engagement in accreditation schools A, B, C and each has a relationship between school well-being and student well-being on student engagement seen by showing interests, values, and positive feelings influenced by safe, comfortable school conditions, good social relations between all components of the indicator, the attention given by teachers to students and the relationships and facilities established in the school and classroom environment. The results of this study are expected to be used as information about things that need to be prepared such as methods, media, and teaching materials in the learning process to increase student engagement in learning biology.
