Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive media introduction of letters with the subject of research group A children in Kartika II-4 Palembang Kindergarten. Development of interactive media in letter recognition using a combination of the ADDIE development model and Tessmer evaluation. The ADDIE development model consists of five stages: the analysis phase, the design phase, the development stage, the implementation stage and the evaluation stage. In the evaluation phase using Tessmer evaluation, the activities consist of 4 stages: self evaluation, expert review, one-to-one evaluation and small group evaluation because they only test the validity and see the practicality of the product. Data collection techniques used interview, walkthrough and observation. The result of expert review of the average value obtained from material validation and design is 3.96 which is categorized as valid. The valid category means that the product developed is feasible to use in terms of material that is the suitability of the material with the curriculum, visual appropriateness including text, images, audio, animation, language suitability ie the use of easy-to-understand children's vocabulary, suitability of letters recognition materials with characteristics of children aged 4-5 years and in terms of design that is unity, simplicity, balance, harmony components that exist in the interactive media in the introduction of letters. The next stage of one to one evaluation and small group evaluation stage obtained an average observation of 93.45% with very practical category. Practical category means that children easily understand the introduction of letters such as pronounce and show the letters and children easy to interpret the meaning of words because the use of words that are simple for children. The weakness of interactive media in the introduction of the letter that is the lack of interactivity on the menu guess the letters and not all children can operate the laptop so it needs to be accompanied by the teacher.
