Abstract
This study aims to test the soil moisture sensor YL-69 performance based on Arduino Uno Microcontroller which can be used to detect the soil moisture in the soil media. The study was conducted in March 2017 to July 2017 at the green house, Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. The methodology of this research was design and tools test. Meanwhile, the factors that used in this study were volume of irrigation water supply and emitter depth factor. This study comprises of preliminary study, calibration of soil moisture detector, and observation. The parameters in this study were water content, accuracy, precision and error. The results showed that the soil moisture detection system has performance as expected because the soil moisture test which uses the sensor could approach the soil moisture value of the gravimetric method. The average value of total accuracy on the volume of irrigation water supply factor was 97.70% with an average precision value was 94.69 %. Subsequently, the average value of total accuracy on the emitter depth factor was 97.82% with an average precision value was 97.85%. The result of calculation relation of soil moisture measurement which applies sensor with gravimetric method in a linear on the volume factor of irrigation water supply was week-1 R2 = 0.985, week-2 R2= 0.968, week-3 R2= 0.977, and week-4 R2= 0.988. Meanwhile, emitter depth factor was week-1 R2= 0.976, week-2 R2= 0.990, week-3 R2= 0.974, and week-4 R2= 0.995.
