Abstract
This research is based on students' learning difficulties in basic CNC courses. Therefore, the purpose of this study is (1) to find out what are the learning difficulties of students in basic CNC courses in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program, Sriwijaya University, (2) to describe student efforts in overcoming learning difficulties in basic CNC courses in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program, Sriwijaya University. This study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques, namely interviews. The source of this research data is mechanical engineering education students who have taken or are taking basic CNC courses and lecturers who teach basic CNC courses with a total of five students and one lecturer. The data analysis techniques used in this study are data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results of this study show that the learning difficulties experienced by students in basic CNC courses are difficulty reading images, difficulty understanding mathematical calculations, difficulty understanding program codes. Efforts made by students in overcoming learning difficulties are independent learning, asking friends, asking lecturers .
