Abstract

Aglonema is an ornamental leaf plant that has a variety of colors, motifs, shapes, and sizes of leaves. As an ornamental plant that is popular among the public, it is necessary to develop Aglonema through proper fertilization. This research was aimed to determine the growth and appearance of the leaves of Aglonema red lipstick variety through different methods of NPK fertilization. This research was carried out at Rumah Bayang, Department of Agricultural Cultivation, UNSRI from July-September 2023. The experimental design was arranged following Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 3 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment consisted of P0 = conventional fertilization by sowing with a frequency of 1 time/2 weeks, P1 = fertilization by spraying with a frequency of 1 time/week, and P2 = fertilization by spraying with a frequency of 2 times/week. The fertilizer used is compound NPK fertilizer 20-10-10. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued with the least significant difference test (LSD) at a test level of 5%. The results of the research showed that different fertilization methods on Aglonema red lipstick variety that had an effect were the sprayed fertilization treatment with frequency of 2 times/week, namely on the variables of visual quality grade, visual colour grade, number of leaves, leaf length, and petiole diameter.
