Abstract
PT Bukit Asam is one of the State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) which focuses on operating in the energy sector based on coal mining. PT Bukit Asam is an open pit mine located in Tanjung Enim, Muaraenim Regency, South Sumatra Province. This research aims to determine the safety value of a stable slope against the influence of faults. The presence of fault planes on slopes can cause the level of stability on slopes to decline, especially slopes that are parallel to the fault. This can cause the slope to become prone to landslides. However, this does not rule out the possibility that slopes parallel to the fault can have stable security. So research is needed using the slope design modeling simulation method with Rocscience slide software. In testing the slope design modeling simulation on the influence of faults using Rocscience slide software. First, obtain data on lithology type, layer thickness, subsurface water, rock mechanical properties, and fault structure data. From the results of simulation tests using an angle for each slope of 45o and several types of slope geometry and the use of ramps. The simulation was carried out in the presence of a downward fault oriented N 220o E/55o NW. In modeling parallel to the fault, it was found that slope design No. 8 with an overall slope of 16.4o and slope design No. 10 with an overall slope of 17.9o were models that had stable values. Then, by simulating the orientation of the bench towards the fault, it was found that the best orientation angle was at 45o. In this research, a formula was obtained to determine the best overall slope for the presence of a fault plane. Then modeling was also carried out to validate the formula by changing the angular magnitudes of the fault, namely 45o, 50o and 60o. The benefit of this research is to provide advice to mining companies, especially coal mines that have fault structures on the mine slopes. So it can determine slope geometry with a stable safety factor value against the influence of faults. A suitable and stable design based on its geometry can optimize mining activities.
