Abstract

The research entitled "The Influence of Mathematical Ability and Image Reading on the Ability to Make Programs in the Cnc Simulator Application for Students of Mechanical Engineering Education at Sriwijaya University" aims to determine the direct and indirect influence between mathematical ability, reading images and creating CNC programs. This research is quantitative. The research population is active students of Sriwijaya University's mechanical engineering education for the 2023/2024 academic year. The data analysis technique uses the Kolmogorov Smirnov normality test, linearity and multicollinearity. To see the direct relationship between variables using the path coefficient and p-value, and Upsilon V to find out the magnitude. indirect influence of intervening mediating variables. The influence of mathematical ability on the ability to create CNC programs with a path coefficient of 0.414 and a p-value of 0.022<0.05. The influence of the ability to read images on the ability to create CNC programs with a path coefficient of 0.193 and a p-value of 0.218>0.05. The influence of mathematical ability on the ability to read images with a path coefficient of 0.541 and a p-value of 0.000<0.05. From these three data it can be concluded that each variable has a strong and significant direct influence except for the influence of image reading ability on CNC. However, at the structural level the mediating role of image reading ability is classified as insignificant with a very low mediation effect (upsilon v= 0.006), Ogbeibu et al(2020)
