Abstract

This research aimed to assess the impact of volleyball passing drills involving hitting the ball against a wall on the outcomes of overhand passing in SMA Negeri 2 Palembang. The study encompassed 30 extracurricular participants as the research population, with an equivalent sample size. Employing a quasi-experimental method, the study utilized a one-group pretest and posttest design. The primary assessment tool was the overhand passing test, gathering data through pretest and posttest measurements. The training intervention comprised practicing bouncing the ball against the wall four times a week. The research findings revealed a significant increase in the mean score, showing a 2.36 improvement from the pretest to the posttest. Statistical analysis produced a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), supporting the hypothesis that practicing bouncing the ball against the wall positively influences overhand passing outcomes. In conclusion, engaging in wall rebound drills enhances overhand passing outcomes at SMA Negeri 2 Palembang and proves to be a valuable training method for improving overhand passing skills in volleyball.
