Abstract

The purpose of this study was to knowing of friction coefficient of several types of grain to various types of material surface material. This research is done by using experimental method. Method of measuring coefficient of kinetic friction coefficient is done by using method of tracking video with application of tracker. The experiment was done by removing the grain from the top of the incline and recording the movement of the grain during the glide using the video recorder. Furthermore, the video analysis through the tracking process to obtain information on the speed of grain at any time. Data processing is done through a fitting process according to the linear equations between the beam's glide speed and time. The coefficient of kinetic friction is obtained through the graph gradient. From the research that has been done, the highest coefficient value of kinetic friction found in green pea bean to aluminium plate on 3rd replication is 0.179 and coefficient value os smallest friction found on green beans to steel plate on 4 rd repeat is 0.068 and for coefficient value kinetic friction between green beans to stainless steel of 0.082.
