Abstract

This research aims to 1) Describe the marketing channels for broiler chickens originating from CH Farms. John Isman in Pelempang Village, Kelekar District, Muara Enim Regency. 2) Calculate how much marketing margin is in the marketing channel for broiler chickens originating from CH Farms, John Isman. 3) Calculate the efficiency value of the marketing channel for broiler chickens originating from CH Farms. John Isman. Sampling was carried out using saturated sampling and snowball sampling methods to obtain a sample of 34 respondents. The data collected is primary data and secondary data. The research results show that there are 5 (five) marketing channel patterns that occur with the involvement of marketing institutions, namely Breeders (CH John Isman), Partner Companies (PT Semesta Mitra Sejahtera), Collecting Traders, Collaborating Retailers and Retail Traders. The smallest margin is generated by marketing channel pattern 1, namely IDR 10,200, while the largest margin is generated by marketing channel pattern 5, namely IDR 15,800. The margin calculations carried out show that the longer the marketing channel chain, the greater the marketing margin obtained. Meanwhile, marketing efficiency calculations carried out show that the shorter the marketing channel chain, the more efficient it is. This can be proven by the results of data analysis where the smallest efficiency value is produced by the shortest marketing channel, namely channel 1, at 2.02%, while the largest efficiency value is produced by the longest marketing channel, namely channel 5, at 5.38%. However, all marketing channel patterns that occur are considered efficient because the efficiency value is less than 50%. Keywords: efficiency, margin, marketing agency
