Abstract

Indonesia is the 4th country with the most population in the vvorld vvhich indicates the high level of the birlhs in the country. The high birth rate means that the cases of illness suffered by both the child and the mother are high as well. However, facilities that handle specialized maternal and child health is currently not adequate to all regions in Indonesia especially the province of Bangka Belitung. Moreover, in designing a hospital, it’s necessary to consider the convenience aspect of building users and the environment around the building. Planning and Designing Women and Children's Hospital through biophilic architecture approach will be expected to answer the health needs in Bangka Belitung especially in Pangkalpinang.
