Abstract
The research objective was to study of stainless Steel slated type of mouldboard plow at different forward speed and tillage depths. It was conducted at Farm Exprimental Station and Laboratory of Chemical, Biology and Land Fertility of Soil Science Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University ffom October to December 2011. This research was performed using Randomized Factorial Block Design that consisted of two levels of tillage depths (10 cm, 15 cm, and 20 cm) and forward speeds (2 km/hr, 3 km/hr dan 4 km/hr). Each treatment was repeated three times. The observed parameters were the efficiency of tillage, energy needed for tillage, and tillage draft. The result showed that tillage depths and the forward speeds had very significant effect on the tillage performance. The best treatment was found at tillage depth of 10 cm and forward speed of 2 km/hr which produced tillage efficiency of 90.52 %, energy needed for tillage was 748.98 MJ/ha and tillage draft was 6.87 kg.
