Abstract

PT Bumi Merapi Energi, is a coal mining company located in West Merapi and South Merapi Districts, South Sumatra. The area of the Mining Business License is 1,851 ha. PT Bumi Merapi Energi coal mining is carried out using the open-pit mining method with conventional equipment. This study aims to determine the performance and needs of loading and hauling equipment in order to meet the planned production targets of loading and excavating equipment. The process of transferring coal material at the East Kungkilan Pit uses 2 units of Hyundai R850LC-9 excavator loading and 8 units of LGMG CMT 96 dumptruck transportation equipment with an average hauling distance of 2.1 kilometers. Researchers make direct observations of the object of research, in this case the object of research is performance management and the need for tools in the mine, by calculating the actual productivity of loading and transporting equipment to achieve coal production targets. The actual production in June 2023 with 2 units of loading and 8 hauling equipment at the East Kungkilan pit is 110,460 tons/month, there is a failure to achieve the Company's production target of 130,000 tons/month. Production targets in coal excavation have not been achieved, so research needs to be carried out to increase production by evaluating the conditions and needs of the number of loading and conveying equipment. By simulating the improvement of road geometry, conditions and needs for the number of loading and hauling equipment in July, production at the East Kungkilan Pit of PT Bumi Merapi Energi with the need for 2 units of Hyundai R850LC-9 excavator loading and 10 units of LGMG CMT 96 dump truck transportation equipment amounting to 138,075 where the target has exceeded the company's monthly production target of 130,000 tons / month
