Abstract
Analysis of noise and mechanical vibration was conducted using mechanical vibration of defibering coconut machine. The purpose of this research was to analyze noise and mechanical vibration of defibering coconut machine. This study was conducted on November 2017 to February 2018 at Sri Tiga Village Sumber Marga Telang Subdistrict Banyuasin Regency. This research was done using the experimental method. The noise was measured by using the grid method and sound level meter. Vibration was measured at some points in mechanical vibration of defibering coconut machine using vibration meter. The observed parameters were the noise and vibration. The level of noise was described in mapping by using “Software Surfer 11”, which generates the contour of noise. The measured vibration data was described in form of graphs Based on the results of research and measurements that have been done on the rendering engine, defibering coconut machine, the highest noise level at operator position 1 was 101.1 dB at an engine speed of 1,700 rpm, and the lowest at operator position 1 was 95.7 dB at an engine speed of 1,100 rpm. The highest noise level at operator position 2 is 99.9 dB at a speed of 1,700 rpm, and the lowest in the operator position 2 is 91.6 dB at a speed of 1,100 rpm. The highest noise level at operator position 3 is 104.8 dB at a speed of 1,700 rpm, and the lowest in the operator position 2 is 94.8 dB at a speed of 1,100 rpm.The highest level of noise from defibering coconut machine of 104.8 dB with engine rotation of 1,700 rpm, whereas the lowest level of noise of 81.7 dB with the engine rotation of 1,100 rpm. Based on the result, highest level of vibration was found at the hopper of 49.17 m/s2 with the engine rotation of 1,700 rpm and lowest level of vibration was found at the flour of 0.13 m/s2 with the engine rotation of 1,100 rpm.
