Abstract

The objectives of this research are (1) describing kind of food and its consume level from poor household in Muara Telang Sub District, (2) analyzing the factors that influenced poor household rice consume level in Muara Telang Sub District, and (3) describing the kind and quality of rice which consumed by poor household in Muara Telang Sub District Banyuasin District. This research held on July 2007. The approaching method was survei method. This method was used to get the description of poor household in Muara Telang Sub District Banyuasin District consume level and its influenced factors. The collected data were primary and secondary data. The primary data got by survei and interview to the sample by question list. This research result shows that the highest poor household consume level in Muara Telang Sub District was rice 132,59 kg/capita/yr, followed by cassava, flour, and sago. Poor household did not consume com, sorghum, and potato. The significant influenced factors of poor household rice consume level in Muara Telang Sub District were income level, rice price, substitute price, the amount of household member, age, sex, and education level. The dominant kind of rice which consumed J by poor household in Muara Telang Sub District were Ciherang variety and IR 42 variety, and these kind of rice in quality II which means well quality according to BULOG standardizations.
