Abstract

Poor peanut growth is caused by acidic soil and decreased soil fertility due to lack of nutrients. Therefore, to increase the pH of the soil and improve the chemical properties of the soil, it is necessary to apply dolomite lime and fertilizer. Liquid organic fertilizer is one of the alternatives as an effort to avoid the use of chemical residues in fertilization. The utilization of various fruit residues, such as banana, pineapple and papaya can be used as raw materials for making liquid organic fertilizer. This study aimed to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer of various fruit residues on the growth and yield of peanut plants (Arachis hypogaea L.). This research was conducted at Sriwijaya University research land, Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province (3°13'23 "S 104°38'49 "E). The research was conducted from August to November 2022. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 8 treatments in 4 replications and 4 plants per treatment unit so that a total of 128 plants. The data obtained were analyzed using the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) method, then continued with the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at the 5% level. The results showed that the application of liquid organic fertilizer of various fruit residues had a significant effect on the number of branches, number of pods, weight of pods, crown fresh weight, crown dry weight, root fresh weight, root dry weight and weight of 100 seeds.
