Abstract

This study aims to identify the depth of the peat under the embankment using the 2D Wenner resistivity geoelectric method. Peat soil generally has different properties from ordinary soil, which has a low carrying capacity and tends to decrease after some time. Therefore, determining the depth of peat in the embankment before constructing a construction foundation is an important step to ensure that the construction foundation built can support the building load safely and stably. On track 1 you can see the distribution of peat from a depth of 4.63 – 9.89 meters, for track 2 the distribution of peat is from a depth of 0.625 – 4.63 meters. On track 3 you can see the distribution of peat from the surface to a depth of 4.63 meters. On track 4 you can see the distribution of peat from a depth of 4-9 meters because the top surface layer has been covered by heaps. In general, the lithology of the subsurface soil in the study area is dominated by peat soil, sandy loam soil.
