Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan persentase dan bentuk miskonsepsi pengetahuan awal (prior knowledge) siswa pada materi rangkaian listrik sederhana menggunakan tes diagnostik four-tier. Deskripsi yang dijelaskan tediri dari memprediksi nyala bola lampu, memprediksi besar arus pada bola lampu dan memprediksi nyala kecerahan bola lampu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 1 Tanjung Batu dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 63 siswa. Instrumen tes yang digunakan berupa soal tes diagnostik four-tier sebanyak 12 soal yang disebut Simple Electric Circuit Diagnostic Test (SECDT) yang dikembangkan oleh Haki Peşman dan Ali Eryilmaz. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan awal (prior knowledge) siswa yang paham konsep sebesar 12,75%, tidak paham konsep sebesar 21,08%, miskonsepsi sebesar 53,58%, dan error sebesar 12,58%. Serta terdapat 6 bentuk miskonsepsi.
