Abstract

Representasi sebagai konsep penjabaran melalui ide ataupun tulisan memiliki hubungan tentang suatu objek orang atau kejadian secara nyata menjadi karya fiksi. Representasi menjelaskan ulang suatu hal yang tersembunyi dan mengangkat permasalahan yang terjadi di kehidupan masyarakat. Salah satu permasalahan yang diangkat ialah perjuangan disabilitas pada film My Annoying Brother tahun 2016. Hal ini menjadi permasalahan yang manarik untuk dibahas terkait bagaimana perjuangan yang dilalui atlet disabilitas dalam mengejar mimpinya. Analisis semiotika yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah analisis semiotika Roland Barthes yang melihat tanda melalui konotasi, denotasi, dan mitos. Hasil dari penelitian ini ialah, perjuangan atlet disabilitas tidaklah mudah, karena ia harus melalui rasa depresi, orang lain yang merendahkannya, rasa tidak percaya diri, hingga akhirnya ia mampu tetap melewatinya dan menjadi atlet judo disabilitas.
