Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of giving various doses of chicken manure on the growth and yield of shallot plants (Allium ascalonicum L.) var bauji planted on mounds. This research was conducted in Tanjung Pering, Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, at 003°13'00'' South Latitude and 104°38'16'' East Longitude. The research was start from June to August 2023. This research was conducted using a randomized block design (RBD) with one factorial. Factors for administering various doses of manure, namely control (P0), chicken manure 10 tonnes/ha or 1.5 kg/plot (P1), chicken manure 20 tonnes/ha or 3 kg/plot (P2), chicken manure 30 tonnes/ha or 4.5 kg/plot (P3). The data obtained were analyzed statistically using Analysis of Varience (ANOVA). The results of the research showed that applying chicken manure at different doses to shallot plants (Allium ascalonicum L) gave the best results in the P3 treatment = 4.5 kg chicken manure/plot (30 tons/ha) especially in the parameters of leaf greenness level, root length, leaf area, tuber wet weight, tuber dry weight and stover wet weight.
