Abstract

The objectives of this study are to identify the reasons women become kemplang’s craftsmen, to determine the effect of characteristics of women in kemplang’s business income, and to calculate the contribution of women from kemplang’s business to total family income. This research was conducted in Tanjung Pering Village, Indralaya Utara Subdistrict, Ogan Ilir District in April 2019. This study used survey methods and census methods with 50 respondents. This study collects primary data obtained through observations and secondary data obtained through books, journals, and websites. The results of this study are: The reason of women becoming craftsmen of kemplang’s business due to two factors, namely internal factors, which are factors of family income that are insufficient and leisure factors and then external factors, which are educational factors and hereditary business factors; Based on concurrent multiple linear regression characteristics of women from kemplang’s business significantly influence the income of kemplang’s busieness. While partially, only age and number of family members have a significant effect on the income of kemplang’s business; The overall contribution of the kemplang's business income committee to family income is 58 percent. While the contribution of family head income is smaller, namely 42 percent.
