Abstract
The objective of this research was to find out the influence of potassium fertilizer dosages againts the infection and the development of Corynespora cassiicola causing leaf fail disesase at rubber nurseries. This research was conducted at laboratory and green house of Plant Pest and Diseases Department, Agricultural Faculty of Sriwijaya University in Inderalaya, started in September and completed in November 2005. The reseach was carried using Competely Randomized Design with six treatments and five replications, the treatment consists of A (control), B ( 1 g potassium fertilizer plant*’), C (1.5 g potassium fertilizer plant_1), D ( 2 g potassium fertilizer plant **), E ( 2.5 g potassium fertilizer plant _1) and F ( 3 g potassium fertilizer plant *l). The results showed that potassium fertilizer did not affect incubation period and ■j leaf spot area, but high-significantly affected disease intensity. The average of the longest time of incubation period under potassium fertilizer treatment was 3 g plant*1 by 17.65 days and the shortest times was of control amounted to 12.17 days. The potassium fertilizer of 3 g plant*1 treatment caused disease intensity was 28.24% but the control treatment produced disease intensity of 53.89%. The leaf spot area ranged ffom 1.11 cm2 to 1.69 cm2 but the area of control treatment was 1.96 cm2. The treatment potassium fertilizer 3 g plant'1 was the best treatment to suppress leaf fail disease caused by Corynespora cassiicola.
