Abstract
Environmental issues are one of the global issues that is often discussed, as we know, of the many environmental issues that are most frequently discussed by many countries in the world, climate change is. Because its global impact does not take into account the geographical conditions of a region. One of the causes of climate change is industrial activities carried out by humans. Through these activities there are substances called hydrofluorocarbons which have the potential to increase greenhouse gases. Then an international convention was formed, namely the Montreal Protocol, which then regulated the use of these substances through its latest amendment, namely the Kigali Amendment. Departing from this, the author then explains what issues Indonesia's national interests have in ratifying the amendment considering that environmental issues in international relations are used as a political agenda. Through national interests, we look for existing facts and then correlate them with theories that are relevant to the existing facts. The results of this research show various interests, such as the interest in commitment to supporting greenhouse gas reduction, economic interests, improving the country's image, and economic sustainability by collaborating with other countries
